Celebrated singer songwriter Damien Leith has been announced as the Koroit Irish Festival Ambassador for 2014.
Damien shot to fame in 2006 when he won Australian Idol and has continued to shine since with massive hits in both Australia and Ireland.
Damien was born in Dublin and raised in County Kildare and now calls Australia home making him the idea Ambassador for our 2014.
At the festival Damien will play a feature show on Saturday April 26th in the Koroit Theatre and also present the Australian Danny Championship.
Who knows he may even roll his sleeves up and take part in some Koroit/Irish culture and take part in the Spud Picking championship!
In 2013 renowned humanitarian and Victorian of the Year Moira Kelly was our Festival Ambassador.
One of the great Irish-Australians, Moira was joined in Koroit by her Irish born father Patrick and other family members. Moira was at the Great Debate on the Friday night, led the Koroit Irish Festival Street Procession on the Saturday and presented Australian Danny Boy Championship first prize that evening before coming back for more fun on the Sunday.
